大学英语教材文化呈现研究——以《全新版大学高阶英语》为例

研究运用内容分析法,从地域维度对某套大学英语教材中的主题文章和练习部分的文化内容呈现进行分析.研究发现,教材主题文章以目标语国家文化为主,中华文化呈现比例仍然较低;练习部分明显增加了中华文化相关内容,有利于提高学生的中华文化目标语表达.研究建议外语教材中的中华文化比例至少保持在20%—30%之间,从而保证适量的母语文化的目的语表达输入;提高教材的文化多样性,以培养学生多元文化意识;教师应充分发挥主观能动性,针对教材内容进行二次开发,实现文化内容的合理供给.
Abstract
This study analyzes the representation of cultural content in the theme articles and exercise sections of a set of college English textbooks from the geographical dimension by using content analysis method.The study has found that the textbook's theme articles are mainly about the culture of the target language countries,and the proportion of Chinese culture presented is still relatively low;the exercise section has obviously added Chinese culture-related content,which is conducive to improving students'target language expression of Chinese culture.The study suggests that the proportion of Chinese culture in foreign language textbooks should be at least 20%-30%,so as to ensure an appropriate amount of input of target language expression of the native language culture;the cultural diversity of the textbooks should be improved in order to cultivate students'multicultural awareness;and teachers should give full play to their subjective initiative and carry out secondary development of the textbook content to realize the reasonable supply of cultural content.
