Heidegger's Metapolitics and the Concealed"Inner Truth"
Recent studies have confirmed the presence of the expression"the inner truth of the National Socialism"in Heidegger's original manuscripts.But this discovery does not prove that Heidegger's philosophy is Nazi politics.The concept of"inner truth"is related to Heidegger's prospect of constructing metapolitics during this period.As a regional metontology,metapolitics would carry out the truth of being into political activities at the ontical level.Through interpreting Hölderlin's poetry,Heidegger reveals the truth of being as"intimacy,"which is a more original experience of truth than Greek φ(ν)σιζ.Heidegger's metapolitics tries to lay the foundation of a kind of ideal politics with the name of"the inner truth of National Socialism,"and does not intend to deliver theory for the existing Nazi movement.His so-called"Spiritual National Socialism"refers not to any National Socialism in reality,but the movement involving the essence of nation and Dasein that the metapolitics would bring about.The failure of the idea of metapolitics doesn't mean the failure of Heidegger's thought.
