As an important branch of apparel design,the localization of shoe and boot design been a research hotspot in the field of design,but the systematic combing of the literature in this field still has room for exploration.With the help of Cite Space,a bibliometric visualization software,the article analyzes the current situation of the number of articles,research institutions,core authors,and cited literature,as well as detects the trend of future research hotspots and themes,based on the 641 pieces of footwear and boot design literature retrieved from China Knowledge Network(CNKI)database between 2000 and 2022.The results show that the research on shoe and boot design is influenced by the development of domestic industry and talent cultivation.Research institutions are mainly concentrated in Shaanxi,Hebei and Zhejiang,and core authors and small-scale cooperative groups based on regional institutions have been formed.The future development mainly focuses on three aspects,namely,styling design,category design and functional design,and ocus on docking with the diversity of market demand.
