The sustainable development of the garment industry is the irresistible trend of the traditional garment industry's transformation as sustainable clothing design is an effective way of solving problems between humankind and society as well as environmental development.The paper sorts out the cases of sustainable clothing design and production at home and abroad in recent years through methods including literature research,investigation and case analysis.Then it summarizes three ways to implement sustainable clothing design by analyzing the cases:maintaining the sustainability of clothing raw materials,sustainability of clothing production and processing,and sustainability of clothing design methods.Based on the research,the paper analyzes the trend in the future that sustainable clothing will gradually become people's life philosophy with close integration of science and technology,cross-border and systematization,serving as a reference for research and innovation of sustainable clothing design.
