Status and influencing factors of disease acceptance in patients with esophageal cancer
Objective:To investigate the status of disease acceptance,psychological resilience and social support in patients with esophageal cancer,and to analyze the influencing factors of disease acceptance in patients with esophageal cancer.Methods:Convenience sampling method was used to select 230 patients with esophageal cancer who were treated in a Class A tertiary hospital in Tianjin as the research objects.A questionnaire survey was conducted using general information questionnaire,disease acceptance scale,psychological resilience scale and social support scale.Results:The total score of disease acceptance in patients with esophageal cancer was 18.96±3.38,which was generally at a low level;disease acceptance was positively correlated with resilience,social support and all dimensions(r=0.290~0.488,P<0.05);multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that resilience,social support,place of residence,presence or absence of chemotherapy history,and education level had significantly effect on disease acceptance,explaining 39.3%of the total variance.Conclusion:The level of disease acceptance,psychological resilience and social support in patients with esophageal cancer needs to be improved.Psychological resilience,social support,residence,chemotherapy history,and education level are all influencing factors of disease acceptance.Medical staff should guide patients according to individual conditions,improve pa-tients'awareness of their own diseases,and pay attention to patients'disease acceptance,so as to carry out targeted interventions to improve patients'disease acceptance and better face the disease.
