Investigation of the current situation of patient delay and analysis of influencing factors in children with congenital heart disease in the Northern Guizhou region
Objective:To investigate the current situation of patient delay and analyze the influencing factors in children with congenital heart disease in the Northern Guizhou region,in order to provide a basis for promoting early detection,diagnosis,and treatment of congenital heart disease in children in this region and improving their postoperative survival quality.Methods:A convenience sampling method was used to select 259 children with congenital heart disease and their main caregivers from two Class A tertiary comprehensive hospitals in the Northern Guizhou region as study subjects to investigate the current situation of patient delay and analyze the influencing factors.Results:Among the 259 children,219 cases(84.56%)experienced patient delay,with the longest delay being 168 months and the shortest 1 month.Logistic regression analysis revealed that the family's place of residence,monthly household income,and the number of children were influencing factors for patient delay in children with congenital heart disease(P<0.05).Conclusion:The incidence of patient delay is high among children with congenital heart disease in the Northern Guizhou region,with a widespread phenomenon of patient delay.Children from rural areas,with lower economic income,and from larger families are more likely to experience patient delay.
