Analysis on status and influencing factors of physical activity levels in middle-aged and young patients with diabetic retinopathy
Objective:To assess the current physical activity levels of middle-aged and young adults with diabetic retinopathy and analyze the influencing factors. Methods:A survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire and the short form of the international physical activity questionnaire among 190 middle-aged and young patients with diabetic retinopathy who treated the tertiary eye hospital in Tianjin from July 2022 to January 2023.Results:Among the 190 patients,179(94.2%)exhibited low levels of physical activity.Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that high medication adherence(OR=0.230)is a protective factor for physical activity, while body mass index(BMI)(OR=1.398)and visual acuity(OR=1.376)are risk factors for physical activity. Conclusion:Physical activity levels among middle-aged and young diabetic retinopathy patients are low.BMI,visual acuity, and medication adherence are significant factors affecting physical activity. It is recommended to develop targeted and individualized physical activity strategies based on these factors to enhance health-promoting behaviors among middle-aged and young diabetic retinopathy patients.
