Application of empowerment theory-based nursing care on upper limb function exercise in postoperative breast cancer patients
Objective:To explore the application effect of nursing care based on empowerment theory on upper limb functional exercise of postoperative breast cancer patients, and to provide evidence for improving patients' quality of life. Methods:A total of 108 patients with breast cancer who were hospitalized from July 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the study objects and were divided into the control group and the observation group according to sequence of time, with 54 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional nursing care and the observation group was given nursing care based on the empowerment theory on this basis. The intervention effects were evaluated by using the upper limb functional disability rating scale, the breast cancer patients' quality of life scale, the compliance with exercise scale, and the exercise self-efficacy scale. Results:There were higher scores of the quality of life, upper limb function exercise compliance and exercise self-efficacy,lower scores of the upper limb functional disability rating scale in the observation group compared with the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Empowerment theory-based nursing care effectively improved exercise compliance, exercise self-efficacy,quality of life, and upper limb functional recovery in postoperative breast cancer patients.
