Analysis of the current situation and influencing factors of personal mastery among patients after permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation
Objective:To investigate the current status of patients' personal mastery after permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation and analyze its influencing factors, providing reference of rehabilitation programs for patients. Methods:The questionnaire survey was conducted among 195 patients after permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation by using the General Information Questionnaire, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),and the Personal Mastery Scale(PMS).Results:The mean score of PMS,CD-RISC,and GSES were 21.95±5.20,61.63±11.08,and 25.39±5.61,respectively.The participants were categorized into the better personal mastery group(n=51)and poorer personal mastery group(n=144)based on the total score of personal mastery scale. There was statistically significant difference when comparing the age, monthly household income per capita, education level, course of the disease, number of comorbidities, the score of GSES and the score of CD-RISC between the two groups(P<0.05).The Logistic regression showed that the course of disease was a risk factor of patients'personal mastery after permament cardiac pacemaker implantation(P<0.05),while education level, monthly household income per capita, the score of GSES and the score of CD-RISC were protective factors for patients'personal mastery after permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation(P<0.05).Conclusion:The level of patients' personal mastery after permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation is poor. This study indicated that healthcare professionals need to pay special attention to patients with low economic income, low education, and prolonged medical conditions, and provide them with personalized health guidance in order to improve their level of psychological resilience,self-efficacy,and personal mastery.
