Physiological responses of transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana with OsARP gene to salt stress
Salt stress has the effect of affecting the synthesis, metabolism, growth and development of plants in vivo.In order to investigate the effect of Auxin response protein(OsARP)gene on salt stress in rice, four concentrations of NaCl(0,50,100,200 mmol/L)were used to treat Arabidopsis thaliana with OsARP gene and wild-type Arabidopsis thaliana, and their agronomic traits and physiological indexes were measured. The results showed that the dry weight of transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana were 5 times higher than that of wild type, and fresh weight were 2 times higher than that of wild type under 200 mmol/L NaCl treatment. The root length was 93%higher than that of the wild type, and the plant height was twice higher than that of the wild type. The malondialdehyde(MDA)content was 25%higher than that of the wild type, and the soluble sugar content was 4.5%lower than that of the wild type.Under 100 mmol/L NaCl treatment, the chlorophyll content of transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana was 26%higher than that of wild type, and the activity of peroxidase(POD)was 17.3%higher than that of wild type, and the activity of catalase(CAT)was 7 times higher than that of wild type, and the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD)was 15.6%lower than that of wild type. The results showed that the OsARP gene improved the salt tolerance of Arabidopsis thaliana, which laid a foundation for the study of the functional mechanism of OsARP gene.
