Preparation of peanut shell biochar and its adsorption performance on Rhodamine B in water
Using peanut shell as raw material and KOH as modifier, peanut shell biochar was prepared for adsorption of Rhodamine B in water by oxygen-limited pyrolysis at 200℃.The effects of initial concentration of Rhodamine B,pH of solution, adsorption time and dosage of biochar on the adsorption of Rhodamine B were investigated by single factor experiment, and the adsorption mechanism was also analyzed. The results showed that at the dosage of 20 mg,the volume of 25.00 mL,the initial concentration of 1.00 mg/L,the rotate speed of 150 r/min and the adsorption time of 75 min,the removal rate reached 97.90%.The results of parameter fitting showed that the adsorption process of Rhodamine B by modified peanut shell biochar followed the quasi-second-order kinetic equation(R2=0.9982),and the adsorption isotherm followed the Langmuir isotherm adsorption model, which belonged to single molecular layer chemisorption.
