Effect of Different Planting Patterns on Cotton Yield after Wheat
In order to alleviate the contradiction of land competition for grain and cotton in Kashgar, explore the planting mode of cot-ton replanting after wheat, and open up a new path for dual prosperity of grain and cotton.By setting different planting densities and preserving the number of fruit branches, two factor experiments were conducted to analyze the effects of different treatments on the number of cotton flowers and bolls, single boll weight, yield, and quality. The study showed that the average yield of high-density A2 increased by 15.58%compared to the average yield of conventional density A1.In the conventional density A1 mode, there was no sig-nificant difference in yield with different numbers of fruit branches retained. In the high-density A2 mode, the highest yield with 7 fruit branches retained was 2207.55 kg·hm-2.The single bell weight of two different planting densities increased with the increase of reserved fruit branches. The high-density A2(32896500 plants·hm-2)5 row planting mode was beneficial for improving light and ef-ficiency and increasing yield. The maturity of cotton fibers was not sufficient when replanting cotton after wheat. In the case of imma-ture cotton replanting after Kashgar wheat, high effective accumulated temperature ecological zone, reasonable planting density, early variety selection of wheat and cotton, timely sowing and retention of 7 fruit branches are effective measures to improve the yield of cotton replanting after wheat.
