Gymnocorymbus ternetzi scientifically designated as the colorful angelfish, has emerged as a highly coveted breed within the freshwater ornamental fish market.Addressing the paucity of industrial breeding practices specific to colorful angelfish in Tianjin, the study employed the oocyte-washing technique for the purification of eggs.A meticulous sampling approach was adopted, involving the random collection of 500 fertilized eggs from each variant of the colorful angel, with triplicate experimental units for each variant. To delve deeper into the quantifiable trait changed during different developmental stages,ANOVA was conducted. The results indicated that the fertilization rate was significantly increased by oocyte-washing method, and the relative fertilization rate indicated a trend in green>red>yellow>purple>blue.Furthermore, the analysis of morphological characteristics revealed significant differences among the varieties(P<0.01).In terms of total length, the green angelfish measured>blue>red>purple>yellow.Similarly, for body length, the green angelfish>blue>red>purple>yellow. In terms of body height, the green stood tallest with>blue>red>purple>yellow. In conclusion, the study offered a comprehensive analysis of the breeding practices and phenotypic traits of Gymnocorymbus ternetzi in Tianjin. The oocyte-washing method emerged as an effective tool for enhancing fertilization rates, while the ANOVA analysis provided valuable insights into the growth trait variations among different variants.
