The Effect of Substrate on the Burrowing and Related Enzyme Activities of Juvenile Hard Clams Mercenaria mercenaria
In order to study the effect of substrate on the burrowing behavior and related enzyme activities of juvenile hard clam, five kinds of substrates were set up to observe the burrowing process of juvenile hard clam, count the burrowing time and burrowing rate, and determine the activity of respiratory metabolic enzymes. The results showed that the burrowing rate of juvenile hard clam was mud group<coarse sand mud group<fine sand mud group<coarse sand group<fine sand group. The erect shell ET10 was coarse sand group<fine sand group<fine sand mud group<mud group<coarse sand mud group; The burrowing ET10 was coarse sand group<fine sand group<coarse sand mud group<fine sand mud group<mud group.Na+-K+-ATPase activity was coarse sand mud group<fine sand group<coarse sand group<mud group<fine sand mud group;Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase activity was coarse sand mud group<coarse sand group<fine sand group<fine sand mud group<mud group.Lactate dehydrogenase activity was fine sand group<coarse sand group<coarse sand mud group<mud group<fine sand mud group.Succinate dehydrogenase activity was coarse sand mud group<fine sand mud group<mud group<fine sand group<coarse sand group.Fine sand substrate was the most suitable substrate for the culture of juvenile hard clams according to a comprehensive analysis.
