Analysis of Quality Differences of Cigar Tobacco from Different Producing Areas
This study aimed to investigate the quality characteristics of cigar tobacco from different producing areas and identify the differences between domestic and international cigar tobacco.The appearance quality,physical characteristics,and sensory quality of cigar tobacco from five producing areas were evaluated and analyzed.Additionally,flavor analysis was conducted using a diversity e-valuation method.The results showed that the domestic wrapper exhibited similarities with Dominican wrapper in terms of flatness,leaf structure,and oil content.Meanwhile,there were still some problems in domestic wrapper,such as large size,uneven color and insufficient luster.Moreover,both domestic and Dominican cigar tobacco leaves showed no significant difference in thickness or ten-sion.Among all tobacco leaves examined,Dominican cigar tobacco showed the best sensory quality,while Hainan cigar tobacco per-forms best among domestic varieties.In conclusion,the appearance quality of domestic wrappers generally met the requirements for use,and part of physical quality reached the level of Dominican tobacco leaves.Moreover,color uniformity,luster enhancement,and sensory quality should be put more attention to.
