Differential Analysis of Gene Expression in Kernels of Glutinous Maize and Common Maize after Pollination
In order to explore whether waxy properties of maize can affect the composition and content of storage protein, and to clarify the difference of gene expression between waxy maize and common maize,so as to provide more gene resources for waxy maize breed-ing.In this study,A-PAGE and transcriptome sequencing techniques were used to analyze the composition and gene expression pat-terns of seed storage proteins in common maize and waxy maize..The results showed that the grain storage protein composition of waxy maize was identical to that of common maize, and the gliadin migration rate of waxy maize and common maize was faster than wheat grain gliadin. The expression pattern of Zm00001d005793(mc1)in waxy maize was comparable to that of common maize, although its expression abundance was lower. The expression patterns of zein Zm00001D005793(mc1)in waxy maize and common maize were sim-ilar,with no significant difference discovered. The expression of zein Zm0000 1D049243(FL2)and Zm00001D048851(FL4)was consid-erably lower in waxy maize than in common maize The results indicated that the regulation pathway of waxy traits in maize may affect the expression of genes encoding grain storage proteins. In breeding,we should pay attention to the changes of waxy properties and seed storage protein,so as to enhance the diversification of breeding products and enhance market competitiveness.
