Effect of Different Types of Calcium-containing Foliar Fertilizers on High-quality Tomatoes
In an effort to investigate the impacts of various types of foliar calcium fertilizers on the growth, yield, and fruit quality of high-quality tomatoes, and to offer a reference for the application of calcium fertilizers on high-quality tomatoes in this region, the lo-cal high-quality tomato variety Yuanwei No.1 was adopted as the test material.Every 10 days after the flowering of the first panicle of tomato, four distinct foliar calcium fertilizers were sprayed.Calcium nitrate, amino acid calcium, sugar alcohol calcium, and inositol calcium were utilized to determine their effects on indicators such as the plant height, stem diameter, single fruit weight, and soluble solids of tomatoes. The results showed that after the application of foliar calcium fertilizer, all the measured indices of tomatoes were enhanced, and the occurrence of umbilical rot was notably reduced. The most favorable effect on various measurement indicators was achieved after spraying sugar alcohol calcium, with the tomato plant height reaching 173.33 cm and the yield amounting to 31 825.5 kg·hm-2.Simultaneously,the incidence rate of umbilical rot was significantly decreased by 0.33%.The quality of tomatoes also im-proved,with the maximum content of vitamin C reaching 114.32 mg·kg-1 and the soluble sugar content reaching 49.39,representing an increase of 3.61%.The soluble solid content of each ear and fruit was optimal. To sum up,the spraying of sugar alcohol calcium fertilizer can effectively stimulate the growth of tomato plants, enhance the quality of tomato fruits, and increase the yield.
