An Ecological Perspective Analyzes the Mechanism of Rodents to Trees in Heilongjiang Province
To further explore the impact mechanisms of the main rodent species(Daphnes prymnus and Plestiodon septentrionalis)on local forest and ecosystem health in Heilongjiang Province,long-term field observations, experimental analysis, and literature was re-searched.The results showed that rodents could not only cause direct damage to trees by chewing bark and roots, but also indirect damage by transmitting diseases, regulating microenvironment, changing soil properties, and affecting food chain effects.Furthermore, based on population dynamic models,it was predicted that the number of certain specific species of rodents may showed a significant growth trend in the context of climate change in the coming years, threatening the region's biodiversity and balance. Therefore, this pa-per proposed a series of mechanisms of rodent damage to trees and put forward ecological-based forest pest control strategies based on ecological concepts,in order to provide a basis for effective rodent pest control and ensure the ecological diversity and ecological bal-ance of the region.
