Data Analysis and Reflection on Major Diversion in Broad-category Enrollment of Higher Vocational Colleges
Broad-category enrollment represents a new trend in the reform and de-velopment of higher education in China.In recent years,it has gained recognition from both society and colleges and has been widely practiced in the context of college entrance examination reforms.Major diversion is a crucial component of the broad-category enroll-ment system and a reasonable professional diversion system facilitates accurate major se-lection and effective professional learning for students.Taking the finance major as a case study,this paper analyzes the relevant data from the implementation of broad-cate-gory enrollment and subsequent professional diversion,complemented by follow-up sur-vey results to investigate and substantiate the guiding influence of broad-category learn-ing on students'major selection.Meanwhile,this paper summarizes the experiences gained from the initial implementation of broad-category enrollment and major diversion at T Vocational College.Based on the current situation of broad-category enrollment in higher vocational education,it proposes several recommendations,including adopting a reasonable broad-category enrollment model,strictly regulating the grouping behavior within broad categories,carefully formulating major diversion plans,and updating and im-proving talent training programs,with a view to providing experimental data and experien-tial references for the future implementation of professional diversion in similar majors.
