The 15 physical indexes of 226 Gin elderlies(99 males,127 females)were investigated by random sampling method,and the status of obesity and overweight of Gin elderly was studied.The results showed that:the weight,stature,lean body mass,basal metabolic rate,body water and body surface area of Gin elderly males and females were significantly negatively correlated with age,and the index values of age group of 60 years were the highest.According to the classification of BMI,the overweight and obesity rates of Gin elderly males were 38.4%and 16.2%,and the overweight and obesity rates of the elderly females were 44.1%and 18.1%.According to the classification of PBF,the obesity rates of Gin elderly males and females were 23.2%and 49.6%,respectively.According to the classification of waist circumference,the early central obesity rate of Gin elderly males was 22.2%,and the central obesity rate was 28.3%.The early central obesity rate of the elderly females was 23.6%,and the central obesity rate was 37.0%.According to the classification of waist-hip ratio,the central obesity rates of Gin elderly males and females were 51.5%and 91.3%,respectively.The higher overweight and obesity rates of Gin elderly should be paid enough attention.The obesity and overweight of Gin elderly were the results of multiple factors such as heredity,behavior and environment.
