Taxonomical study on genus Halimeda(Chlorophyta,Udoteaceae)from Xisha Islands,China
In order to explore the distribution and taxonomy of Halimeda in China, based on the morphological, anatomical and molecular phylogenetic methods, the morphological observation and molecular phylogenetic analysis were carried out on the samples of the genus Halimeda collected from Xisha Islands,China in June 2019.The result showed that four species were identified,i.e.Halimeda macroloba,H.opuntia,H.incrassata and H.monile.H.monile was the first recorded in China. Its main characteristics included trilobate branches, cylindrical segments and unseparated outer cortical utricles after decalcifica-tion.In the meantime, the intragenus section level and relationship with other related species in this genus were discussed.Based on the rbcL sequence analysis, the species of Halimeda formed five evolutionary branches with good support rate, which induded almost all the species in the genus.
