On the Empowering of Generative Artificial Intelligence to Enhance the Digital Competencies of International Chinese Language Teachers:Assessment Framework,Current Status,and Recommendations
The success of ChatGPT has ushered in a new era of education empowered by generative artificial intelligence.How generative AI can drive the innovative development of international Chinese education and enhance the digital competencies of international Chinese teachers is a crucial topic now.Drawing on relevant educational theories and methods,developing a generative AI competence assessment framework and scale suitable for international Chinese teachers will facilitate scientific evaluation and effective measurement.Results from surveys using the assessment scale indicate that international Chinese teachers generally have a positive cognition and attitude towards generative AI,but its practical application remains relatively weak.Factors such as age,educational background,professional background,and participation in related training are all significant influential factors.Therefore,it is recommended to integrate generative AI comprehensively and multi-dimensionally in aspects like teacher training,teacher evaluation,teacher development,and curriculum construction,to make new technologies effectively empower international Chinese teachers to improve their digital competencies.
