Impact of trade policy uncertainty on embedded position of China's service industry in the global value chain
Using input-output data from the Asian Development Bank,the paper empirically examines the impact of trade policy uncertainty on the embedded position of China's service industry in the global value chain.It finds that the increase in trade policy uncertainty will have a positive impact on the embedded position by stimulating the industry to increase scientific research input and improve export capacity.The heterogeneity test shows that trade policy uncertainty has different impact on industries with different levels of openness,with negative impact on the inward-oriented industries and positive impact on the outward-oriented industries.The trade risk exposure of industries will make trade policy uncertainty have a"U-shaped"threshold effect on the embedded position of China's service industry in the global value chain.
