Trade facilitation,manufacturing export diversification and export product quality
Trade facilitation alleviates the plight of trade barriers such as complicated customs clearance procedures and difficulty to unify customs systems,and brings the possibility of"qualitative"improvement to manufacturing exports.In this context,this paper explores the impact of trade facilitation on quality of manufacturing export products and takes manufacturing export diversification as a moderating variable at the same time.Using the inter-provincial panel data from 2011 to 2021 to conduct empirical tests of fixed effect,the results show that trade facilitation significantly contributes to the improvement of the quality of manufacturing export product as a whole,and the effects range from the maximum to the minimum as follows:port efficiency,business environment,infrastructure and e-commerce.Trade facilitation has different effects on the quality of manufacturing export product in different regions.It has a significant promoting effect in the economically developed eastern region while it has an inhibiting effect on the quality of manufacturing export product in the western region due to excessive competition.Manufacturing export diversification plays a significantly positive moderating role in the trade facilitation-driven process.
