Does High Employment Density Reduce Fertility Intention——Empirical Research Based on the Micro Data from CGSS
Based on the data from the China General Social Survey(CGSS),the paper tested the relationship between the employment density of labor market and fertility intention.The research found that,the increase in employment density would weaken the fertility intention of labor force.Heterogeneity analysis showed that:in terms of individual characteristics,the reducing impact of the increase in employment density was effective for the male,unmarried population,bachelors and above,as well as those aged 35 and younger.In terms of job characteristics,the increase in employment density the reducing impact of the increase in employment density was effective for the labors in state-owned enterprises,full-time workers,the labors working more than 44 hours per week,as well as the middle-income group.Regulatory effect reflected that,housing price and unemployment rate played a negative regulating role in the relationship between employment density and fertility intention.
