Impact of Tertiary Education Attainment on Household Financial Vulnerability——Based on the Transmission Path of Financial Literacy and Preference for Financing Channels
Based on the China Household Finance Survey data from 2015 to 2019,the paper used the fixed effects and the difference-in-differences model,to analyze the impact of tertiary education attainment on household financial vulnerability.The research found that,tertiary education attainment and the policy of enrollment expansion in tertiary education institutions could significantly reduce household financial vulnerability,and help to improve household financial conditions.The alleviating effect of tertiary education attainment on household financial vulnerability was more pronounced in middle-income households,those with risk-averse attitudes,and families in western regions.Tertiary education attainment has reduced household financial vulnerability through improvements in resident financial literacy and preferences for financing channels.
