Common Prosperity Level in China:Regional Differences and Influencing Factors
This paper constructed a statistical evaluation indicator system for common prosperity from the dimensions of affluence and commonality,and then employed the entropy method to measure and analyze common prosperity level and its sub-dimension scores for 30 provinces in China from 2010 to 2021.Additionally,the Dagum Gini coefficient was utilized to investigate the evolutionary characteristics and regional disparities in common prosperity level.The study comprehensively adopted both static and spatial panel models to analyze the influencing factors of common prosperity across Chinese provinces and explored the spatial spillover effects of these factors.Research findings were as follows.Firstly,the overall level of common prosperity across China's provinces has shown an upward trend.Secondly,the gap in common prosperity among different provinces was progressively narrowing.Thirdly,advanced industrial structure,scientific and technological development,the proportion of direct taxes,and the progress of marketization had a promoting effect on common prosperity level within provinces.Finally,scientific and technological development,and the proportion of direct taxes,also positively influenced the common prosperity level of neighboring provinces.Conversely,advanced industrial structure and progress of marketization in neighboring provinces had a hindering effect on common prosperity level within a given province.
