High-Quality Development of Manufacturing Industry:Distribution Dynamics and Urban Agglomeration Differences
This paper innovatively constructed a comprehensive evaluation index system for the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry, aiming to measure the actual level of high-quality manufacturing development in China's cities, and analyze its distribution dynamics, urban agglomeration differences, and convergence. The findings were as follows.Firstly, while the development gap between cities was continuously narrowing, cities with higher indices still maintained their leading advantages, and the distribution dynamics varied across the four major regions.Secondly, after introducing spatial factors, the phenomenon of club convergence still existed, and state transitions more frequently occurred between adjacent types.Thirdly, the overall difference showed the trend characteristic of"gentle decline-gentle rise-sharp decline",where innovation-driven and green ecology alternately have become the main sources of structural differences.Fourthly, except for the central region, there was no significant σ convergence in the rest of the country and other regions, while absolute and conditional β convergence existed both nationwide and in the four major regions.
