Research on Market Power and Technological Innovation of Agricultural Product Processing Enterprises
The innovation of agricultural product processing enterprises is a crucial driver for the high-quality development of rural industries.However,there is limited literature that examines the innovation incentives of these enterprises from the perspective of market power.Aim to address this gap,Lee's innovation decision-making model is developed to explain the impact mechanism of market power on innovation.Additionally,it utilizes data from listed companies in the agricultural product processing industry between 2008 and 2021 to conduct an empirical test using the DLW market power measurement method.The findings indicate that:Market power significantly promotes innovation in agricultural product processing enterprises,even after controlling for endogenous factors using Bartik IV and the 2 SLS method.The premium effect and cost effect are the primary mechanisms through which market power fosters technological innovation in these enterprises.The role of market power in promoting technological innovation varies based on attributes such as urban transportation convenience and enterprise property rights.Therefore,it is essential to formulate relevant policies that focus on nurturing leading enterprises,enhancing transport infrastructure,and leveraging the leading role of state-owned enterprises in innovation.These efforts will effectively promote innovation in agricultural product processing enterprises and facilitate the high-quality development of rural industries.
