Research on Regional Differences,Spatial Aggregation and Convergence of China's Digital Economy Level
To measure and compare the digital economy level and economic level,the evaluation index systems is constructed by using the global order-preserving principal component evaluation method.The concepts of absolute inequality and relative inequality are introduced,and Gini coefficient and its decomposition are extended to multi-dimensional occasions to more deeply and comprehensively measure regional differences of digital economy level and regional differences of economic level.The one-dimensional Gini coefficient only measures regional differences from the level,while the multi-dimensional Gini coefficient constructed can reflect the multi-dimensional characteristics of regional differences.A new measure of regional differences is provided.A statistical test is taken based on Moran index to test"whether digital economy can break the geographical restrictions of economic development"and discuss the space-time convergence of the digital economy level.It also discusses the convergence properties of digital economy level in time and space.The research conclusions show that:the level of digital economy and economic are highly correlated and mutually reinforcing.In terms of digital economy level of ranking,Beijing,Shanghai,Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Guangdong and Tianjin rank at the top,while Shanxi,Henan,Guangxi,Gansu and Xinjiang rank at the bottom.Chongqing,Hebei,Jiangxi,Heilongjiang,Guizhou and other regions have made great progress in ranking,while Fujian,Ningxia,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai,Shanxi,Xinjiang have declined in ranking.In the context of the COVID-19,the economic level of most provinces in China has declined to a certain extent,but from the perspective of digital economic level,only Fujian and Hainan have declined slightly,while the digital economic levels of other provinces are still improving.The regional differences of China's economic level and digital economic level are significant,mainly depending on the differences between the eastern and central regions,and the eastern and western regions.The differences between the central and western regions are relatively small,and they have declined to varying degrees,indicating that China's coordinated sharing and common prosperity development strategy has achieved initial results.Digital economy is significantly and positively related to geographical location,but it can break the geographical location restriction to a certain extent,and the degree of breaking the geographical location restriction is relatively high.For the digital economy level of the whole country and the eastern region,there are significant σ convergence.For the whole country and its three regions,there are absolute and conditional βconvergence.The improvement of economic level effectively promotes the growth of digital economy in the whole country and the three regions,while government intervention has a certain inhibition effect on the growth of the national digital economy,but has no significant impact on the three regions.Human capital has not yet shown a significant role in promoting the digital economy.A number of measures should be taken to promote the healthy and rapid development of China's digital economy and reduce the regional differences.The main measures should be taken as follows:continue to increase investment on digital infrastructure,further break through the space constraints,provide more support for economically backward regions,and focus on their superior resources,cultivate leading enterprises in the digital industry.Speed up the digital transformation of the industry and greatly improve the efficiency of economic development.Strengthen the standardization and supervision of the digital economy,and actively guide them to promote the healthy and ordered development.
