New Urbanization,Market-oriented Reform,and Digital Economy Development
As China officially enters a new stage of development,efficiently promoting the construction of new urbanization,further accelerating the development of the digital economy,and focusing on building a high-level modern market system have become key measures to support high-quality development in China during the 14th Five Year Plan period and even in the future.Based on panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020,and comprehensively apply methods such as panel vector autoregressive model,coupled coordination degree model,and double fixed effects model to objectively reveal the interactive relationship,coupled coordination development degree,and effective driving factors of the three major systems of new urbanization,market-oriented reform,and digital economy.The following conclusions are obtained:(1)New urbanization can significantly promote regional market-oriented reform,Marketization reform is conducive to promoting the development of the digital economy;The new urbanization and digital economy can support and promote each other;(2)The degree of coupling and coordination among China's new urbanization,market-oriented reform,and digital economy has steadily improved,and the interaction and connection among the three major systems approach gradually.The coordinated development trend has basically formed,but overall,there is a regional gradient gap distribution from east to west;(3)Factors such as material investment,government intervention,and technological innovation are the key factors driving the coupling and coordinating development of the three major systems.The results indicate that it is necessary to correctly fulfill government functions,innovate and improve macroeconomic regulation methods,strengthen policy guidance,implement precise policies,coordinate and promote the steady development of new urbanization,market-oriented reform,and digital economy,and reasonably achieve high-level linkage amongthem,which will be the essence of contempor-ary China's economic transformation and high-quality development.
