Under the realistic background of increasingly pressing"double carbon"constraints and increasing downward pressure on the economy, digital financial inclusion has become a new driving force and sustainable growth pole for green,low-carbon and high-quality development of urban economy.Using non-radial directional distance function to construct the energy-environmental efficiency of 273 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2020,and empirically testing the spatial effect and impact mechanism of digital financial inclusion on energy-environmental efficiency. The results show that:(1)The energy-environmental efficiency presents the characteristics of positive spatial dependence, and the improvement of local energy-environmental efficiency has a positive effect on the energy-environmental efficiency of spatially-correlated regions.(2)Digital financial inclusion improves the local energy-environmental efficiency, and has a significant positive spatial spillover effect on energy-environmental efficiency in surrounding areas.(3)Digital financial inclusion improves the energy-environmental efficiency by promoting energy conservation and consumption reduction, promoting green technology innovation and optimizing industrial structure in both local and surrounding areas.(4)The positive spatial spillover effect of digital financial inclusion on energy-environmental efficiency is more obvious in the dimension of using depth and digital degree, within 500km,large cities,non-old industrial cities and eastern cities. The conclusions provide scientific decision-making basis for the optimizing path of financial services for the green and low-carbon transformation of energy in China.
