Study on the Impact of Digital Inclusive Finance on Common Prosperity and Spatial Effects
Currently, digital inclusive finance is flourishing and holding broad prospects, which is of great importance to study the impact of digital inclusive finance on common prosperity. The article constructs an index system for the level of common prosperity based on the dimensions of richness, coordination, and sustainability using the equal weight method and entropy weight method.Based on panel data from 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021,panel regression models, spatial Durbin models, and intermediary effect models are constructed to empirically analyze the impact of digital inclusive finance on common prosperity and spatial effects, and its heterogeneity and mechanisms are further analyzed.Research findings indicate that, the provincial common prosperity level in China exhibits a rapid growth trend during the test period with significant spatial correlation, showing an overall distribution pattern of high prosperity in the east, moderate in the central and northeast regions, and low in the west. Moreover, digital inclusive finance can significantly promote local common prosperity but shows negative spatial spillover effects, the conclusion holds up after a series of robustness tests.Further exploration reveals a stronger promotion effect of digital inclusive finance on common prosperity in the central region and relatively weaker effects in the eastern, western, and northeastern regions. The impact of digital inclusive finance is stronger in terms of depth of use on common prosperity, while the influence of coverage breadth and digitization level is relatively weaker.Digital inclusive finance impacts common prosperity by stimulating consumption and enhancing employment.Based on the research findings,it is proposed to further strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure, enhance the depth of digital inclusive finance utilization, fully leverage its positive effects on consumption and employment, and formulate regional coordinated development plans to promote the achievement of common prosperity goals.
