Study on Rust Prevention Performance and Application of Bio-Based Furfural Derivatives in Water Rust-Removing Process
A bio-based rust inhibitor is prepared by using biomass material furfural derivatives as the matrix substance in addition to compounding of sodium gluconate and sodium benzoate,.The rust resistance of the bio-based rust inhibitor is investigated via a series of tests including static weight loss, contact angle, scanning electron microscopy, rust resistance testing, coating adhesion and salt spray resistance, etc. And its compatibility with EP-01 epoxy zinc rich primer and MC-WEP-3 waterborne epoxy zinc rich primer is also studied. The results indicate that the corrosion inhibition performance of HMF is basically lost at 90 ℃.the corrosion inhibition rate of 300 ppm HMF on Q235 at 30 ℃ in a lmol/L HCl solution can reach up to 69.4%.The addition of 2%rust inhibitor in water rust-removing process enables no obvious rust on the surface of the sample within 24 hours, and has no impact on the adhesion and salt spray resistance of subsequent solvent-based or waterborne epoxy zinc rich primers.
