Study on the separation performance on CO2/CH4 of mixed matrix membrane based on two-dimensional vermiculite nanosheet
In this study,polyether-polyamide block copolymer(Pebax)was used as the polymer membrane matrix and two-dimension-al vermiculite nanosheets(VMT)as the filler to prepare mixed matrix membranes(MMMs)with different filler amounts. The structure of VMT nanosheets and their arrangement within the MMMs were used to construct transport channels for CO2 within the membrane, which improved the separation performance of membrane on CO2/CH4.The characterization and gas separation properties of Pebax-VMT MMMs were investigated, showing that the separation of MMMs in CO2/CH4 system was significantly enhanced after being filled with VMT.The Pebax-VMT MMMs exhibited optimal CO2 separation performance with a CO2 permeation coefficient of 489.31 Barrer and a CO2/CH4 selectivity of 39.96 at a filler volume of 5 wt%.Compared with pure Pebax membrane,CO2 permeation coefficient in-creased by 98.3%and CO2/CH4 selectivity increased by 84.2%.
