Effect of different capping agents sprayed by drones on cotton plant type and boll space configuration
The effect of different types of capping agents sprayed by UAV on cotton plant type, boll setting space configuration, and yield were studied in this experiment. The results are as follows that compared with manual topping(CK),the application of capping a-gents increased plant height by 2.35-16.49 cm,decreased plant width by 3.66-10.71 cm,shortened the length of the last five fruit branches by 4.74-9.29 cm,and increased the proportion of bolls in the lower and inner parts by 2.93%-7.61%and 5.14%-5.27%.Among different capping agents,X3 and X5 had the best sealing effect, and there was no significant difference between their plant height and CK.The plant width and average length of the top five fruit branches decreased by 17.55%-27.22%and 49.48%-78.16%,respectively,compared to CK.The boll setting rate in the lower and inner parts increased by 0.67%-7.74%and 2.26%-9.17%,re-spectively,Compared with CK.The number of bolls per plant of'Xinluzhong 67'increased by 0.12-0.19 and the yield increased by 0.92%-3.04%under X3 and X5 treatments.Under X5 treatment, the number of bolls per plant of'Tahe 2'increased by 0.2 and the yield increased by 0.63%.Under X3 treatment, the number of bolls per plant and yield slightly decreased compared to CK,but the difference was not significant. The average coefficient of variation(CV)of plant height, plant width dynamics, and the length of the last five fruit branches in each treatment of'Xinluzhong 67'were greater than those of'Tahe 2'.In summary,Spraying capping a-gents can to a certain extent inhibit plant width and fruit branch overgrowth, achieving the effect of shaping and stabilizing yield.A-mong them, the effect of capping agent on'Xinluzhong 67'was greater than that on'Tahe 2'.In the cotton area of Southern Xin-jiang,the best treatment for seal the top and stabilize production is the 22.5%of 28 epinephridine water and 250 g/L piperidine water, which can provide theoretrical basis for production practice.
