The new generation of information technology contained in digital infrastructure has profoundly changed people's lives.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces from 2013 to 2021,this paper studies the impact and mechanism of digital infrastructure on residents'consumption.The findings are as follows:Digital infrastructure can significantly promote the upgrading of residents'consumption level and consumption structure;digital infrastructure can indirectly increase household consumption by improving the convenience of payment;high housing prices inhibit the driving effect of digital infrastructure on residential consumption;the promotion effect of digital infrastructure on residents'consumption is obviously beneficial to poverty,and its promotion effect is more significant in the central and western regions and regions with low market development levels.To sum up,it is necessary to speed up the construction of digital infrastructure,strengthen the supervision and governance of the platform,adhere to coordinated development,stabilize housing prices,and improve residents'willingness to consume.
