Based on one case of wind induced damage to glass curtain wall of a tower building group, fragility analysis of the glass curtain wall under impact action of the wind-borne debris on the downstream building was investigated.Firstly, the three-dimensional unsteady flow field around the buildings was obtained by the large eddy simulation.Trajectory of the granular debris then was numerically predicted adopting the five-order Runge-Kutta method. Finally, the stochastic probability model of motion parameters of the debris was established.Influence of the wind-borne debris, randomly generated by the Monte Carlo method,on the vulnerability of the facade curtain wall of the building in the downstream, was studied in detail. The results show that the debris of initial broken pieces of upstream curtain wall could impact downstream buildings and induce chain failure in wind hazards. The impact range is related to the building layout, and the impact damage level is related to the incoming wind speed. And damage would aggravate with increasing wind speed. As for the present case, when the wind speed is less than 15m/s,the wind-born debris'impacting damage to the facade glass curtain wall of the downstream buildings could be neglected. If the wind speed is beyond 30 m/s,the impacting damage is moderate level. When the wind speed is beyond 40 m/s,the wind-born debris'impacting could reach up to serious level, causing relatively large damage zones on the curtain wall.In the wind resistance design for glass curtain wall against wind borne debris, special attention should be paid on the situation that the local initial damage of upstream building under strong wind will enlarge the wind induced damage level and damage degree on the facade curtain wall of surrounding buildings.
