Effects of Individualized Bedtime Diet Planning and Nursing Combined with Resistance Exercise Training on Glucose Metabolism and Debilitation in Elderly Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To explore the application value of individualized bedtime diet planning and nursing combined with resistance exercise training in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 96 el-derly T2DM patients admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of Shenzhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medi-cine from August 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into 2 groups according to ran-dom number table method,with 48 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing,and the observa-tion group was given individualized bedtime diet planning nursing combined with resistance exercise training.Glucose metabolism indexes,frailty,sleep quality,quality of life and nocturnal hypoglycemia were compared between the two groups.Results After nursing,fasting blood glucose(6.17±0.93)mmol/L at 3 pm and(6.49±0.68)mmol/L at 6 pm in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The physiological frailty score(3.08±0.37)points,psychological frailty score(1.10±0.22)points,social fthenia score(0.69±0.15)points,environmental fthenia score(0.73±0.21)points,Pittsburgh sleep quality score(5.11±0.94)points and scores in the diabetes quality of life specific scale of the frailty assessment scale for the elderly were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Individualized bedtime diet planning and nursing combined with anti-resistance exercise training can improve night blood glucose,reduce hypoglycemia,alleviate fthenia,and improve sleep quality and quality of life in T2DM patients.
