Objective To investigate the cardioprotective effect of semaglutide in patients with type 2 diabetes melli-tus(T2DM).Methods A total of 90 patients with T2DM who received treatment in Shunde District Mingjing Diabetes Hospital from January to October 2023 were selected as the study objects, and divided into control group and observa-tion group according to random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metformin.Observation group was treated with metformin combined with semaglutide. The therapeutic effects of differ-ent treatment methods were contrasted. Results After treatment, the blood glucose index of observation group was lower than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, total cholesterol(3.81±0.85)mmol/L and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(2.47±0.19)mmol/L in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(t=2.693,2.991,both P<0.05).After treatment, the level of inflammatory factors in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of T2DM patients, the addition of simethicone to metfor-min can stabilize the blood glucose and lipid profile, optimize the serum inflammatory factor level, and have cardiovas-cular protective effects.
