Objective To analyze the efficacy of Empagliflozin combined with metformin in the treatment of obese pa-tients with type 2 diabetes.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 80 obese patients with type 2 diabetes treated in Zhangzhou Hospital from September 2021 to September 2022.The patients were divided into two groups ac-cording to different treatment methods,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metformin alone,and the observation group was treated with empaglifozin combined with metformin.The changes in blood glu-cose levels and body mass index in the two groups of patients were compared.Results After treatment,the blood glu-cose level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).After treatment,the body mass index of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Empagliflozin combined with metformin can ef-fectively reduce blood glucose levels and body mass index in obese patients with type 2 diabetes.
