Effects of Nursing Intervention Based on Geriatric Comprehensive Assess-ment on Blood Glucose Control and Wound Healing in Elderly Patients with Diabetic Foot
Objective To investigate the effects of nursing intervention based on geriatric comprehensive assessment on blood glucose control and wound healing in elderly patients with diabetic foot. Methods A total of 80 elderly pa-tients with diabetic foot admitted to Guizhou Hospital of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to random sampling method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the study group received nursing intervention based on compre-hensive geriatric assessment.Blood glucose control, trauma healing, foot health behaviors and quality of life scores were compared between the two groups. Results Fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose in the study group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The growth time of marginal fresh granulation, basal fresh granulation and rotting meat removal time in study group were shorter than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The scores of foot health behavior and quality of life in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of nursing intervention based on geriatric comprehensive assessment in elderly patients with diabetic foot can effectively control the patient's blood glucose level, shorten the time of carrion removal, elevate the foot health behavior, and ensure the quality of life, with high practical value.
