Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)in outpa-tients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to provide a basis for prevention and treatment. Methods 739 patients with type 2 diabetes in the Department of Endocrinology of Nan'an Hospital from July 2022 to April 2023 were retrospectively se-lected for cross-sectional investigation. The patients were divided into DPN group(363 cases)and without DPN group(376 cases). The risk factors of DPN were analyzed by binary logistic regression. Results Among 739 patients with type 2 diabetes, the prevalence of DPN was 49.12%.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that age, diabetes course and glycosylated hemoglobin were independent risk factors for DPN(P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of DPN is high in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, age, duration of diabetes and glycated hemoglobin are indepen-dent risk factors for DPN,and early screening and standardized management of DPN should be performed in diabetic patients.
