Objective To investigate the correlation of different Glycosylated Hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)levels with clinical data and pancreatic fat deposition in newly diagnosed patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus(T2DM).Methods The clinical data of 279 newly diagnosed T2DM patients admitted to the comprehensive internal medicine ward of Fengtai Yinling Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing from January to December 2022 were ret-rospectively analyzed, and divided into the 6.0%≤HbA1c<7.0%group with 91 cases, the 7.0%≤HbA1c<9.0%group with 90 cases, and the HbA1c≥9.0%group with 98 cases according to the HbA1c level. The degree of pancreatic fat deposition in each group was detected by magnetic resonance.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation in HbA1c and other indexes. Results Fasting Plasma Glucose(FPG),2-hour Postprandial Blood Glucose(2 hPG),Fasting Insulin(FINS),Triglyceride(TG),Low-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol(LDL-C),High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol(HDL-C),Insulin Resistance Index(HOMA-IR),Insulin Secretion Index(HOMA-β)and Pancreatic Fat Fraction(PFF)were compared between three groups, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that HbA1c was positively correlated with levels of FPG,2 hPG,TG,LDL-C,HOMA-IR and PFF(r=0.605,0.574,0.536,0.122,0.780,0.672,all P<0.05),negatively correlated with FINS,HDL-C and HOMA-β(r=-0.232,-0.265,-0.731,all P<0.001).Conclusion With the increase of HbA1c level, the degree of pan-creatic fat deposition in newly diagnosed T2DM patients becomes more serious, which may be related to abnormal glu-cose metabolism, lipid disorders and insulin resistance.
