The Efficacy of Modified Dachaihu Decoction Combined with Conven-tional Western Medicine in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes and Its Im-pact on Clinical Symptom Scores and Pancreatic Beta Cell Function Indi-cators
Objective To explore the efficacy of modified Dachaihu decoction combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and its impact on clinical symptom scores and pancreatic β-cell function indicators. Methods 98 patients with type 2 diabetes who were admitted to Liaoyang Central Hospital from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into two groups by the ran-dom number table method,49 cases in wach group. The control group was treated with conventional Western medi-cine,and the observation group was treated with Dachaihu decoction combined with conventional Western medicine. The efficacy, clinical symptom scores, and pancreatic β-cell function indicators of the two groups were compared. Results The observation group had a higher effective rate than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The clinical symptom scores of the observation group after 12 weeks of treatment were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The islet β-cell function index of the observation group after 4 weeks and 12 weeks of treatment were higher than those of the control group, the differ-ences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions between groups, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=0.178,P=0.674).Conclusion Modi-fied Dachaihu decoction combined with conventional western medicine has high efficacy in treating type 2 diabetes. It can reduce clinical symptom scores, improve pancreatic β-cell function indicators, and has high safety.
