Objective To investigate the effects of insulin glargine combined with repaglinide on blood glucose and in-sulin function in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of one hundred and seventy patients with type 2 dia-betes treated in Zhangzhou Fifth Hospital from January 2022 to April 2023 were selected and divided into observation group and control group by random digital table method,with eighty-five patients in each group.The control group was treated with insulin glargine,and the observation group was treated with insulin glargine combined with repa-glinide.The blood glucose index,insulin index,insulin dosage,blood glucose recovery time and incidence of adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,glycated hemoglobin,Fast-ing Insulin(FINS)and 2-hour post meal insulin(2 hINS)between the two groups(all P>0.05).After treatment,the lev-els of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin in observation group were lower than those in control group,the levels of FINS and 2 hINS were higher than those of control group,the dosage of insulin in the observation group was less than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in blood glucose recovery time and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during treatment(both P>0.05).Conclusion Insulin glargine combined with repa-glinide has obvious effect on type 2 diabetes patients,which can improve insulin function,reduce insulin use,and has high safety.
