Objective To retrospectively analyze the effect of medical nutrition therapy in patients with gestational dia-betes.Methods The clinical data of 90 cases of gestational diabetes patients diagnosed and treated at Suzhou Jiulong Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from October 2021 to September 2023 were stud retro-spectively analyzed.According to the differences in treatment methods, they were divided into a study group(conven-tional treatment + medical nutrition therapy)and a reference group(conventional treatment),with 45 cases in each. The blood glucose levels, islet function, blood lipid indicators, and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the blood glucose level of the study group was lower than that of the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, the pancreatic islet function of the study group was stronger than that of the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the lipid indexes of the study group were better than those of the reference group, and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05);and the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes of the study group was lower than that of the refer-ence group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Medical nutrition therapy in patients with gestational diabetes can improve blood glucose and blood lipid levels, promote the recovery of pancreatic islet function, and optimize pregnancy outcomes.
