Objective To explore the relationship between time in range(TIR)and glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)coefficient of variation and HbA1c variability score(HVS)in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods 82 pa-tients with type 2 diabetes who underwent continuous glucose monitoring(CGM)in Quanzhou Guangqian Hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the research subjects.According to the TIR level, there were 30 cases in the low TIR group(TIR<85%)and 52 cases in the high TIR group(TIR≥85%).All patients were followed up for 1 year, and the coefficient of variation of HbA1c and HVS during the follow-up period of the two groups were ob-served.Spearman correlation was used to analyze the relationship between TIR,HbA1c coefficient of variation and HVS in patients with type 2 diabetes. Results There was no statistically significant difference between the low TIR group and the high TIR group in terms of gender, blood pressure, taking metformin, and taking sulfa drugs, age, body mass index(BMI),disease duration, insulin use, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial plasma glucose(2 hPG),and HbA1c levels(all P>0.05).The HbA1c variation coefficient and HVS in the low TIR group were signifi-cantly higher than those in the high TIR group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Spear-man correlation analysis showed that TIR was negatively correlated with HbA1c coefficient of variation(r=-0.548,P<0.05)and HVS(r=-0.631,P<0.05).Conclusion TIR is negatively correlated with HbA1c coefficient of variation and HVS in patients with type 2 diabetes.Type 2 diabetic patients with lower TIR have higher HbA1c variation coefficient and HVS,and more obvious blood glucose variability.
