Objective To analyze the clinical effect of lipoic acid on acute cerebral infarction complicated with type 2 diabetes. Methods 60 patients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with type 2 diabetes admitted to the Depart-ment of Neurology of Shishi Hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with alteplase thrombolytic therapy, the control group was treated with insulin, and the observation group was treated with insulin and lipoic acid. The blood glucose level, islet function and therapeutic effect of the two groups were compared. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, the blood glucose level, fasting insulin and insulin resis-tance index of observation group were lower than those of control group, and the function level of islet β cells was higher than that of control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Lipoic acid therapy for acute cerebral infarction complicated with type 2 diabetes can control blood glucose levels improve islet function and enhance therapeutic effect.
