Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of insulin combined with pioglitazone in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of 88 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to Department of Endocrinology of Beijing Fengtai Hospital from March 2020 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups with 44 cases in each group by the lottery method.The control group was treated with insulin alone,and the observation group was treated with pioglitazone combined with insulin.The therapeutic effect of the two group was compared.Results The indices of islet function and glucose metabolism in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The life quality score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group was lower than that in control group,and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of insulin combined with pioglitazone can improve the islet function of type 2 diabetes patients,improve their glucose metabolism disorder,and promote the improvement of their life quality.Combined application can help to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in patients,and improve the safety and ef-fectiveness of medication.
